| THE ENERGY WALL DESCRIPTION The Energy Wall Exhibit was an international design build competition for a portion of gallery space in the New Metropolis Science Center located in the heart of Amsterdam. This exhibit space is dedicated to entertaining and teaching the visitor about the production of energy from raw material to a usable commodity and the balance required during and after that process to ensure harmony between man and his environment. House of Kevin Inc. was responsible for all phases of the project from conceptual design and graphics to fabrication and installation. We produced design drawings, scale models and prototypes to assist in the design process with shop drawings and weekly digital photographs, e-mailed to the client, to assist in the fabrication portion. The Energy Wall consisted of three main icons, the furnace, the turbine, and the generator. These structures tell the visual story of the transformation of raw materials into energy. This story wall is controlled by a computer driven air activation system allowing the furnace doors to open and close, the turbine to spin and the generator to whirl. Located between these large sculptural pieces are corresponding workbenches that house interactive exhibits, graphics and actual artifacts dedicated to that icon.
