...so the other day, a man walks up to me and asks if I would like to buy a ticket for the Heart & Stroke lottery. I think for a few seconds and reply "No! I don't want to win one of those!".

Yes, this is just a sample of what you missed if you weren't at Comedywood on February 22nd, for Ezenet's first corporate social event of 2001.

Staring this year, you now have a Social Committee at your disposal. We are a group of seven people dedicated to ensuring that our employees maintain a healthy balance of work and play. We have scheduled a number of social events for the coming year, to allow ourselves to relax and get to know each other in a variety of casual and entertaining environments.

Our comedy night was held at the Comedywood, near Avenue and Bloor, and was a resounding success. Sixty of us were in attendance for a dinner and a variety of comedians --- together, we made up most of the audience that night. One unlucky Social Committee member was dragged up on stage, and made to act out some new-age poem --- after a less than inspiring performance, he assures us that he will not be quitting his day job!

Our next event, which will be free to all Ezenet employees, will be a boat cruise of the Toronto Islands and Harbourfront, on Friday June 1st. The evening will include a dinner, and a four hour cruise. More details will be e-mailed to everyone as the date approaches.

Our Holiday party will be held on Dec. 8th, so don't forget to mark your calendars!
