Importing & Exporting

Import

You can import previously created databases from other database programs such as Access, Excel, Word, FoxPro, DBase, Oracle and more. To import a database you must first save it as a delimited text (.txt) file.

KazTrix will import text files that use the following delimiters: tab, comma (,), semicolon (;), space, and any other user defined single character.

To access the Import screen, click on the button on the toolbar, or select Import from the Tools menu.

Click on the Import data from txt file button and select a delimited text file that you wish to import. Select a delimiter and enter a name for the new database that you are about create and click on OK.

Note: KazTrix supports 100 fields per record, therefore, if your previous database had more than 100 fields, you will only be able to import the first 100.

Export

You can export your database as a Tab Delimited Text (.txt) File. This will allow you to import your data into other database and spreadsheet programs.

To access the Export screen, click on the button on the toolbar, or select Export from the Tools menu. Enter a name for the text file you are creating (including the extension .txt) and click on OK.
